Police charge man after firearms and cannabis seized – Murray River
A man has been charged after firearms and drugs were seized from a home in the state’s Murray River region last week.
About 8.30am on Thursday 1 July 2021, officers attached to Murray River Police District attended a business on Mate Street, Lavington, and spoke to the occupant.
During a search, officers allegedly located a single barrel 12-gauge shotgun concealed in a roll of foam, as well as ammunition.
A search warrant was subsequently executed at a home on Hague Street, with officers locating a rifle, three replica pistols, a double-edged bayonet knife, ammunition and cannabis.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) Funeral arrangements have been scheduled for a 12-year old boy that was killed in a house fire.
Christopher Higgins-Maldonado, was killed in a house fire that broke out on Hague Street on May 31.
Rochester Fire Department crews say they were called to the scene of a house fire with people trapped at a home on Hague Street near Campbell and Lorenzo Streets around 9:45 a.m.
When crews got there, they dealt with an extensive amount of fire and then went through an extensive search and found Christopher in the home. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
