Holland Public looking for community input, adds more reading events

Outdoor Discovery Center raising money for downtown nature playground

The nonprofit ODC Network has raised $250,000 toward the cost of the playscape. ODC Network recently announced a July 19 goal of raising an additional $50,000 from the community to win a $50,000 matching grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.  By the end of July, ODC hopes to begin building the WOW Nature Play Park, which will be primarily constructed from natural materials and feature natural play areas and green space in place of traditional playground equipment. It s always been in the back of our minds to do something at Window on the Waterfront, which doesn t have a playground, said the city s parks director Andy Kenyon.
