Bail granted to man arrested for organizing Honk Protest

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st); The individual who was arrested for obstruction of duties and unlawful assembly during the Chinese Defence Minister’s visit to Sri Lanka released on personal bail on Friday (30). Sri Lanka Police arrested a 31-year-old male for obstructing the duties of police officers and organizing unlawful assembly, when the motorcade of the Chinese Defence Minister was passing through the Borella Junction on 27th April. Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana speaking to News 1st said investigations were carried out based on a video which was circulating on social media and the arrested individual will be produced in court under the provisions of the Penal Code.

Mrs World Caroline Jurie & Chula Padmendra granted bail by court

Colombo (News 1st);  Mrs. World Caroline Jurie & model Chula Padmendra released on personal bail of Rs. 100,000/- each by Colombo Chief Magistrate on Monday (19). Earlier, Mrs. World Caroline Jurie and Model Chula Padmendra, were arrested by the Cinnamon Garden Police on three counts, and were granted police bail on Thursday (08th April), and were ordered to appear in Court on Monday (19). The duo was arrested on the offenses of causing simple hurt and criminal force, committed at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre on Sunday (04th April), at the Mrs. Sri Lanka Pageant. Sri Lanka Police informed the Court that the incident caused damage amounting to Rs. 400,000/- to the Nelum Pokuna Theatre.
