Police in Cumberland County have charged a woman with murder, homicide by vehicle, DUI and other offenses in connection with a fatal crash.East Pennsboro Township police said Krystin Marchese, 33, was driving under the influence of controlled substances when she caused the four-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon on North Enola Road.According to a criminal complaint, Marchese s pickup drifted into the center turn lane and hit a Mitsubishi waiting to turn onto Susquehanna Avenue. The pickup then careened into oncoming traffic, hitting a Lexus and clipping another vehicle, the complaint alleges.Police said the driver of the Lexus, 58-year-old Lee Potteiger, of Lewisberry, was killed in the crash.Two people in the Mitsubishi were taken to a hospital.The criminal complaint alleges Marchese was driving on a suspended license.Police said Marchese told them she was addicted to heroin and fentanyl but hadn t used in two days. Cumberland, Adams and Franklin counties experiencing outages of 911 system

Several south-central Pa. counties are reporting outages of the 911 phone system on Wednesday afternoon, according to social media posts from officials.
Franklin County’s Emergency Service Department tweeted there is a phone outage affecting the three counties’ 911 and non-emergency lines. The problem was first reported just after 2 p.m. Texting 911 is still an option in Franklin County.

Cumberland County man pleads guilty, takes deal for 5- to 10-year jail term in child-sex case

A West Shore man struck a deal Tuesday to plead guilty to molesting an 11-year-old girl in return for a 5- to 10-year prison sentence.
Cumberland County Judge Christylee Peck accepted that deal as Travis Reale, 24, of East Pennsboro Township, entered his pleas to felony charges of indecent assault and corruption of minors.
Reale could have faced an even harsher prison term had he been convicted at trial on more dire child-sex charges, including rape of a child and aggravated indecent assault, that were filed against him by police in East Pennsboro and Hampden townships.

Eight large projects in Cumberland, Adams, Perry and Franklin Counties were awarded more than $8 million combined last week.
The grants are part of a long of list of projects across the state that were awarded money for redevelopment though the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program. The grant program is administered by the State of Pennsylvania’s Office of the Budget and is for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects.
