The North Platte Community College Knights claimed victory in the final game of the Region IX Softball Championship series and are now headed to districts.
The Knights took on the Central Community College Raiders over the weekend – forcing Central into a third game after splitting a doubleheader Saturday. Central took the first game, 9-1, but NPCC evened it up with a 6-2 win.
The Lady Knights beat the Raiders, 7-2, Sunday.
The Knights got on the board in the first inning when Madisyn Hamar singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

LEBANON â Addie Grace Porter s walk-off homer to open the bottom of the seventh inning lifted Lebanon High to a 7-6 come from behind home win over District 9-AAA softball rival Beech Tuesday evening.
The win moved the Lady Devils to 8-13 on the season headed into four games Friday and Saturday in the Wilson County Invitational Tournament.
Beech scored five runs in the top of the third, only to see LHS battle back with two in the bottom of the fourth and four more runs in the fifth to seize a 6-5 advantage.
The Lady Bucs knotted the score at 6-all in the top of the sixth when a one-out single by MacKenzie Likeness drove in Brianna Faulk who opened the inning with a leadoff walk.
