The North Platte Community College volleyball team defeated the North Dakota State College of Science in a best-of-three series to win the district championship and qualify for the national tournament.
The series in Wahpeton, N.D. began on Friday and the Lady Knights won in five sets 20-25, 25-21, 25-21, 20-25, 15-10.
On Saturday morning, the Wildcats evened things up by sweeping NPCC 25-21, 25-18, 25-20, to force a deciding third match.
In that match, the Knights won the first two sets 25-22, 25-23. NDSCS won the third set, 25-21. But NPCC won it in the fourth, 25-21.

DAYTON Experience matters this time of the year, and with five seniors in the starting lineup, the experience of the Fort Loramie Redskins proved to be too much for the Lady Knights to overcome in their 66-24 State semifinal loss on Thursday.
Fort Loramie s deep, talented and scrappy group are back at State after cancellations last year and on Saturday they ll move on to play McDonald for their third girls basketball championship in school history.
