STEUBENVILLE A senior citizen who allegedly threatened a common pleas court judge and another man charged with trying to smuggle a handgun into a government building were among 12 people indicted Wednesday by a Jefferson County grand jury.
Norman Dejuan Brown, 3929 Stratford Blvd., Steubenville, was indicted on charges of having weapons while under disability and illegally conveying a weapon onto the grounds of a specified governmental facility, both felonies.
Brown, 43, allegedly tried to enter the Jefferson County Justice Center for a juvenile court hearing with a .32 caliber pistol tucked inside a black leather bag March 30. Brown told deputies he didn’t know the gun was in the bag, saying his girlfriend “apparently grabbed the wrong bag” when they left for court.
