Memorial unveiled for Locust Grove fallen officer Chase Maddox

LOCUST GROVE — In the spot where Officer Chase Maddox proposed to his wife, Alex, now stands a marker honoring his life and memorializing his five years spent as a member of the Locust Grove Police Department. The brown sign with white letters “Honoring Our Hero” was unveiled Tuesday with family, friends and officials from the Henry County, the city of Locust Grove and LGPD, in attendance. The sign stands across the street from Grace Baptist Church on Tanger Boulevard where Chase Maddox arranged for his wife to be pulled over by a fellow officer years ago. It was there he asked her to be his wife. In the church’s parking lot Alex called family to announce their engagement. The whole event was captured on Chase Maddox’s body cam video. It’s something Alex Maddox said she’ll always treasure.
