Non-profits in B.C. are set to receive funding from B.C.’s Community Gaming Grants.
The $11 million grant is going to organizations to help boost conservation and public safety programs that will benefit British Columbians around the province. The province is providing about $4.8 million to 138 environmental organizations in 2020-21. Here in the North Prince George Recycling and Environmental Action Planning Society will be receiving $26,000.
In 2020-21, 132 not-for-profit organizations that provide emergency and lifesaving services are receiving approximately $6.3 million to deliver their programs province wide. Organizations receiving this funding include, B.C. Search Dog Association, Fraser Region Community Justice Initiatives Association, Kaslo Search and Rescue and Horsefly Volunteer Fire Department.
Northern Health has reported more Covid-19 school exposures in the region.
Prince Rupert had 4 school exposures at 4 different schools. Prince Rupert Middle School recorded an exposure event on January 26th to the 29th. Conrad Elementary School and Pineridge Elementary School had exposure events on February 3rd. At Port Edward Elementary School there was an exposure event on February 1st.
In Dawson Creek Tremblay Elementary School recorded an exposure event on February 2nd. People are reminded that no action is required unless contacted directly by public health officials.
