School District 82 holding by-election

School District 82 has declared a by-election for the Electoral Area 2. They are looking to elect a School Trustee for the remainder of the four-year term commencing April 2021 and ending on November 2022. Currently the nominations include, Dave Crawley, Ed Harrison, Peter Lambright, Roger Leclerc, Lynn Parker, Diana Penner and Kate Spangl. Advanced voting opportunities will be February 24 and March 3. The General Voting will be taking place on March 6 while mail voting and elector registration will be made available on February 8.

Mackenzie and McLeod lake administer first Covid-19 vaccines

More vaccines are being administered in Northern Health. Mackenzie and District Hospital as well as McLeod Lake have received their first shipments of the Pfizer BioNtech Covid-19 vaccine. Mackenzie held its first immunizations for long-term care residents and staff. McLeod Lake held its first clinics for First Nations vulnerable populations and eligible health care workers. Additional immunization clinics for staff in Mackenzie will happen this week. The immunization was administered by Stephanie Clarke, Primary Care Nurse.
