A case has been registered at Koregaon Park police station (PS) against six people of InterContinental Hotels Group India Private Limited (IHG) by Deepak Raheja of NEO Capricorn Plaza Pvt Ltd, for allegedly demanding a ransom of Rs 85 lakh. Those named as accused include IHG managing directors Sudip Jain and Pascal Garvin, area general manager Norton Pereira, Crowne Plaza Pune City Centre general manager Fino Babu, and other employees Venkatesh Gomatam and Anjeline Yap.

EC Secretary General Umesh Sinha said the counting was going on smoothly , and that the load on servers cannot affect the counting of votes on the ground anyway. The counting is on and results are being declared, while website is getting updated later, Jain explained. Jain also said EVMS have once again proved that it remains tamper-proof . He said barring a few incidents which were a result of lapses on part of the officials, no other major issue surfaced with regard to the electronic voting machines.
