Police said a national from the Dominican Republic was among three persons held on Sunday night in Cunupia after over 100 kilogrammes of marijuana was discovered.
The find was made by officers of the North Eastern Divisional Gang Intelligence Unit led by Insp Sunil Bharath and Sgt Mitchell.
Loop News was told that officers made their way to High Street, Siparia, where they had cause to stop and search a white Nissan Panel van.
Over 70 packages containing what appeared to be compressed marijuana were found and seized in the vehicle.
All three occupants were arrested as a result.
The operation was coordinated by Snr Sup Maharaj, Sup Alexander, Sup Ramjohn, and ASP Beharry.
A fire officer and an accountant were among seven people arrested between Friday and Saturday by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force.
The seven were held during operations supervised by Inspector Sunil Bharath, which saw officers visit several communities in the Morvant, San Juan, and Barataria districts.
One person, said to be the owner of a tattoo shop, was arrested for possession of cocaine, while another was arrested for operating a gaming house in a wholesale liquor mart along Third Avenue, Barataria.
The fire officer and accountant were held for driving under the influence, after leaving the vicinity of Silberts Bar along Third Avenue.

A 24-year-old UWI student was arrested when he was found with 6.5 kilograms of marijuana at his apartment on Monday afternoon.
Police said members of the North Eastern Division Task Force went to Evans Street, St Augustine, at around 2 pm. They searched the apartment and found the drugs hidden in a plastic bag in the bedroom
One man who was at the apartment at the time was arrested for the possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
The exercise was co-ordinated by Snr Supt Maharaj, Supt Alexander and ASP Parriman. The team was led by Sgt Sunil Bharath, Cpl Majeed and included PCs Dass, Mieres, Andrews and Eastman
