Fire officer, accountant among seven held in weekend police operations

A fire officer and an accountant were among seven people arrested between Friday and Saturday by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force. The seven were held during operations supervised by Inspector Sunil Bharath, which saw officers visit several communities in the Morvant, San Juan, and Barataria districts. One person, said to be the owner of a tattoo shop, was arrested for possession of cocaine, while another was arrested for operating a gaming house in a wholesale liquor mart along Third Avenue, Barataria.  The fire officer and accountant were held for driving under the influence, after leaving the vicinity of Silberts Bar along Third Avenue.
