Stumping Up For Inclusion, Sustainability In Sport Sector

VIC Premier The Andrews Labor Government is ramping up support for sport and active recreation organisations to build the sector’s capability and help more people get involved in regular activity. Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence today announced applications were open for the next round of the Together More Active program . This round sees project funding of up to $120,000 per year available over two years for all recognised state sporting associations, state sport and active recreation bodies and regional academies of sport. Project funding is available to assist in the development and delivery of programs that support participation outcomes or build resilience and capacity.

Frankston And Seaford Score For Strikers And Tigers

VIC Premier The Andrews Labor Government is delivering new sporting facilities for grassroots participants in Frankston, headlined by female friendly changerooms and new lighting. Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence today joined Member for Carrum Sonya Kilkenny to visit RF Miles Reserve in Seaford, where a new sporting and community pavilion is on the way for the home of the Seaford Tigers football, netball and cricket clubs. The Minister also joined Member for Frankston Paul Edbrooke to visit Ballam Park, where a new pavilion and lighting has been installed at the home of the Peninsula Strikers Junior Football Club. At RF Miles Recreation Reserve, the growing participant numbers at Seaford Football Netball Club and Seaford Cricket Club will soon enjoy access to a new two-storey pavilion featuring female friendly changerooms and amenities, umpire rooms, first aid room and social and meetings rooms.

Backing More Women To Make Call

VIC Premier Fifteen women are about to take the first step in progressing their dream of a career in sports broadcasting, thanks to a ground-breaking program from the Andrews Labor Government. Successful applicants will take part in the second round of the Change Our Game Making the Call pilot program, starting at the end of this month. The first of its kind, the program was created to address the lack of gender diversity in sports broadcasting. It is designed to provide women who are interested in sports broadcasting with the opportunity to further their skills and develop industry connections. The first round of the program was delivered in November 2020 and many of the graduates have moved into a range of industry roles across a variety of sports.
