Easton finishes undefeated, Warriors shut out CSD to end the season

47abc April 17, 2021 CAMBRIDGE, MD.- Behind three interceptions by Shareef Curry and two touchdowns on the ground from Graham Hadaway, the Easton Warriors defeated Cambridge 24-0 to finish the season at 5-0. The loss drops the Vikings to 4-2 to end the spring season. It was a rematch of last seasons instant classic, a double OT 40-34 Easton victory to end the regular season. The Warriors came into the afternoon sitting at 4-0 and the only undefeated team in the Bayside. The Vikings at 4-1, their only loss a tough one to Kent Island in week three. It was a defensive affair early, the teams trading interceptions. Cambridges Tayon Fletcher picking off Ryan O’Connor on the games opening drive, then Shareef Curry stepping in front of a John Henry pass in the back of the end zone for a touchback. Decatur holds on for the 3-1 win over Bennett on senior night April 15, 2021 BERLIN, MD- After taking the first two sets, Stephen Decatur volleyball held on for the 3-1 win over Bennett to finish the season 7-1. Bennett finishes the season with a 8-1 record sitting atop the Bayside south. The Clippers came into tonights matchup as the only undefeated team left in the Bayside South after handing Decatur their only loss of the season back in March. Bennett came out in the first set hot, jumping out to a 7-2 lead. After a Decatur timeout, the Seahawks went on a 7-0 run to take the lead and never looked back for the 25-18 set one win. In the second set, the Hawks kept up the heat taking a 23-18 lead but the Clippers erased that deficit to tie it at 24. Following a SD timeout, the Seahawks put up two straight points for the 2-0 set lead.

O Connor tosses five touchdowns as Easton soars past Decatur

47abc April 10, 2021 BERLIN, MD.- Behind five touchdown passes from Ryan O’Connor, the Easton Warriors rolled past Decatur 42-20 to move to 4-0 on the year. Stephen Decatur drops to 4-2. Easton received the opeing kickoff and drew first blood. Ryan O’Connor with the mean pump and dime to Grant Copper in the corner of the end zone. Warriors took a seven point lead to end the first quarter. Following an O’Connor interception, the Seahawks set up at their own 20  and take advantage. Ashton Snelsire dropped back to pass and hit Kolby Higgins for the 75 yard strike. Two point conversion good, Decatur took a one point lead to start the second quarter.

Central shuts out Lake Forest behind Layfield s 16 strikeouts

47abc April 6, 2021 FELTON, Del.- Behind 16 strikeouts from freshman ace Madge Layfield, the Sussex Central Golden Knights shut out Lake forest for the 4-0 win to move to 5-1 on the year. The loss drops Lake to 2-0. After a scoreless first inning, the Golden Knights got the bats going in the second. Two doubles from Aryanna Briddell and Kaylee Verosko brought home two runs to give Central the 2-0 lead to end the second. Same score headed to the fourth until Briddell send her second hit over the fence for a homer, she had a game high three hits on the day. In the fifth, Katelyn Evick joined the club sending a homer over the left field fence to make it a 4-0 game headed into the sixth inning.

Colonel bounces back, coasts past Kent County for win number three on the season

47abc April 1, 2021 FEDERALSBURG, MD.- After last weeks fifty point loss to Cambridge, the Colonel Richardson Colonels bounced back for the 48-6 win over Kent County. With the win, the Colonels improve to 3-2 on the year, the loss drops the Trojans to 2-3. The Colonels came out firing in the first quarter. After recovering the opening kickoff, CR started the games opening drive at the Kent thirty and quickly got into the end zone. A Zach Robbins pass to Elijah Palmer would be the first points of the game. The Colonels rattled off 48 straight points (36 in the first half) and held on for the 48-6 win.
