CAMBRIDGE, MD.- Behind three interceptions by Shareef Curry and two touchdowns on the ground from Graham Hadaway, the Easton Warriors defeated Cambridge 24-0 to finish the season at 5-0. The loss drops the Vikings to 4-2 to end the spring season.
It was a rematch of last seasons instant classic, a double OT 40-34 Easton victory to end the regular season. The Warriors came into the afternoon sitting at 4-0 and the only undefeated team in the Bayside. The Vikings at 4-1, their only loss a tough one to Kent Island in week three.
It was a defensive affair early, the teams trading interceptions. Cambridges Tayon Fletcher picking off Ryan O’Connor on the games opening drive, then Shareef Curry stepping in front of a John Henry pass in the back of the end zone for a touchback. We would be scoreless headed to the second quarter. Following a CSD fumble to start the quarter, the Warriors finally got into the end zone. Graham Haddaway cut through the defense and just over the goal line to give the Warriors the 7-0 lead with the extra point. A few failed 4th down conversions for both teams took us to halftime with the same 7-0 score.
