DOVER, Del.- Behind 23 points from sophomore Jaheim Harrell, the Dover Senators defeated Caesar Rodney 51-46 to improve to 6-2 on the season. The loss drops CR to 5-3 for their third loss in they past four games.
It was a rematch of the week one battle between CR and Dover, a game in which CR defeated the Senators by 12. This time was a close game throughout, the largest lead held by both teams was five, CR in the first and Dover in the fourth. Dover led by two to end the first quarter and then by one at the half.

DELAMR, Del.- Behind 20 points from Nifere Griffin, the Laurel Bulldogs defeated the Delmar Wildcats 64-60 to move to 2-1 on the year. The Wildcats fall to 3-2 on the season.
Way back in week one of the season, the Bulldogs hosted Delmar and the Wildcats escaped with a two point, 50-48 win. Today, Laurel looked for a different ending.
The Bulldogs flew out of the gate, a four point run to start the game but the Wildcats were able to keep it within two after the first quarter. The back and forth continued through the rest of the first half, Laurel took a one point lead into the halftime break.

DAGSBORO, Del.- After being down 19 midway through the third quarter, the Woodbridge Blue Raiders finished the game on a 39-4 run to defeat Indian River 58-42. With the win, Woodbridge starts the season at 1-0, the loss drops Indian River to 1-2.
After a week of postponements and cancelations for Woodbridge, the Blue Raiders finally got on the court. They took the trip to Dagsboro to take on IR and the ‘Bridge came out a little rusty. They were missing shots, losing the ball and missing assignments and River took advantage. After a tie game to end the first quarter, IR began to pull away. The Indians took a four point lead at halftime and poured it on in the second half. IR opened the half on a 15-0 run to take the 19 point lead midway through the third quarter prompting a Woodbridge time out.

LAUREL, Del.- Behind five team pins in the match, Laurel Bulldogs wrestling defeated Indian River 48-30 to start the season 1-0. With the loss River falls to 0-1 to begin the year.
After two IR forfeits in the 106 and 113 divisions, the Bulldogs began with a 12-0 advantage. In the first played match, IR’s Ian Shaubach got the pin to cut the lead to 12-6. Laurel would go on a run of victories from Cody Drummond (126), Xavier Limehouse (132) and Kyler Weaver (138) to make it a 24-6 lead. But after a few Bulldog forfeits and a River Vickers pin in the 160 pound division, it was a 24 point tie.

They’ve started up their annual deer meat drive for the holiday season.
They encourage hunters in the area to bring their deer to the sheriff’s office, where inmates will help with the butcher process.
The meat is then packaged, and the sheriff’s office invites the less fortunate to come by and pick up whatever they need.
“If they come and check in at our front office up there, and they can pick it up Monday through Friday, from 3 to 4:00. Just drop by and let us know what they need, and we’ll be glad to distribute it out,” said Benton County Sheriff Kenny Christopher.
