Guion Converts In Overtime For Clemson’s Fifth Straight Win CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s soccer team (11-4-0, 5-3 ACC) defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide (7-8-2, 2-5-2 SEC) by a 1-0 score, closing out its home slate for the 2020-21 season at 7-0-0. The perfect home record for this year’s squad marks the first time in program history that a team has concluded their home season without suffering a loss or draw. “This place is special and I think we all know that,” 10th year Head Coach Eddie Radwanski spoke on the home season. “It’s an honor to play here and represent Clemson and really speaks volumes to the wins we had here this season. To be able to do it for the first time is a credit to the players and the work they have put in.”

White Team Scores 14 Unanswered Points to Earn 14-13 Comeback Win

CLEMSON, S.C. Clemson conducted its annual Orange vs. White Spring Game on Saturday, with the White team scoring 14 unanswered second-half points to overcome a 13-0 halftime deficit for a 14-13 victory. Wide Receivers Coach Tyler Grisham earned the victory as acting head coach of the White team, defeating the Orange squad led by Defensive Ends Coach Lemanski Hall. The contest provided the public its first look at Clemson’s 2021 squad, which completed its 15-session spring practice schedule as the Tigers prepare to seek a seventh consecutive ACC Championship this year. Seven more signees from Clemson’s 2021 recruiting class will arrive to join the team this summer in advance of fall camp in August.

Logoleo, Cagle Lead Tigers to Victory Over UNC

Photos by Max Knipstein, Clemson Athletics Clemson outfielder Alia Logoleo went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and RBIs to lead the Tigers to victory in a 4-1 defeat over North Carolina at McWhorter Stadium Thursday evening. The Tigers combined for nine hits from five different players. Clemson righty ace Valerie Cagle (14-3) secured the win in the circle after going the distance for the 14th time this season, while striking out 12 Tar Heel batters. With the win, Clemson improved to 23-4 on the season and 14-4 in ACC play, while North Carolina fell to 10-9 overall and 6-4 in league games. 

Clemson Travels To NC State This Weekend

• • CLEMSON OVERVIEW • Clemson, who has a 3-4 road record, was blanked 2-0 by No. 23 Georgia at home on Tuesday after sweeping Boston College on the road. • The Tigers are averaging 5.5 runs per game and hitting .249 with a .402 slugging percentage, .355 on-base percentage and 13 steals. • The pitching staff has a 4.18 ERA, .252 opponents’ batting average and 3.00 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and Clemson is fielding .965. NC STATE OVERVIEW • NC State, who has a 4-9 home record, is led by 25th-year Head Coach Elliott Avent. • The Wolfpack defeated UNC Greensboro 3-0 and have won five in a row. They are hitting .270 and have a 5.50 ERA and .982 fielding percentage.

Tigers Travel to Gainesville for Florida Relays

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson track and field program is back on the road as the team travels to Gainesville, Fla., ahead of its two days of competition at the Florida Relays from April 2-3. This will serve as the third weekend of competition for Clemson during the outdoor campaign and will be the second time in eight years that the team competes in the meet. Clemson enters the Florida Relays after two strong weekends of competition, as the Tigers have already combined for 35 personal bests and eight top-10 marks in the program’s record book.  The trio of Veronica Fraley, Danielle Sloley and Zico Campbell have been excellent in the shot put ring this season, as the three athletes have each recorded a top-10 mark on their respective all-time lists in each of the opening two meets of the season. Roje Stona returned to competition for the first time in nearly a month at the FSU Relays, winning the men’s discus competition and eclipsing the 58-meter mark on three of his six throws.
