AJ Taylor3 weeks agoLast Updated: May 6, 2021 The Winnebago County Sheriffs and Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene of an accident on U. S. Highway 69 north of Forest City on Wednesday. The accident involved a 2020 Ford van and a 2014 Chevy Equinox. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office redirects traffic off U. S. Highway 69 and onto 360th Street in Forest City. When officials arrived, they found injuries to both vehicle passengers. They learned that the van was northbound on U. S. 69 and had pulled into a residential drive. The driver attempted to make a u-turn and turned directly into the path of a second northbound vehicle, Chevy Equinox.

Iowa State Patrol Investigates Two-Vehicle Accident in Winnebago County – KCHA News

markp8 hours agoLast Updated: May 6, 2021 Four people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck north of Forest City Wednesday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol says the collision occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. along Highway 69 near the intersection with Winnebago County Road A-44.  A 2020 Ford van being driven northbound on Highway 69, then pulled into a residential drive, attempted to make a U-turn and turned into the path of a northbound 2014 Chevy Equinox. Injured were 76-year-old Sondra Nelson, 77-year-old Cheryl Cavett, 78-year-old Janet Bergo, and 80-year-old Paula Schreiner, all of Lake Mills.  Nelson, Schreiner and Cavett were all transported by Forest City Ambulance to Mercy One Hospital in Mason City, while Bergo was airlifted to the hospital by Mercy Air One. All were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. The drivers of the vehicles were not identified.

The Iowa State Patrol says Garrette True, 30, was westbound on Highway 18 and taking the cloverleaf ramp to southbound Interstate 35, south of Clear Lake, when True’s vehicle left the roadway, rolled down the embankment, and ended up on its side. This accident happened around 12:42 PM Tuesday. The State Patrol says True’s life was saved by wearing a seatbelt and True was flown by helicopter to MercyOne Medical Center North Iowa for treatment of injuries.
