The Winnebago County Sheriffs and Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene of an accident on U. S. Highway 69 north of Forest City on Wednesday. The accident involved a 2020 Ford van and a 2014 Chevy Equinox.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office redirects traffic off U. S. Highway 69 and onto 360th Street in Forest City.
When officials arrived, they found injuries to both vehicle passengers. They learned that the van was northbound on U. S. 69 and had pulled into a residential drive. The driver attempted to make a u-turn and turned directly into the path of a second northbound vehicle, Chevy Equinox.
Names released of 4 people hurt in Winnebago County crash
Three people were taken by ambulance and another was air-lifted after the crash.

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Iowa - Four people were injured Wednesday in a two-vehicle accident north of Forest City.
The Iowa State Patrol said Thursday that three people were taken by ambulance and another was taken by Mercy Air One.
The four injured people were: Sondra Nelson, 76, of Lake Mills; Paula Schreiner, 80, of Lake Mills; Cheryl Cavett, 77, of Lake Mills; Janet Bergo, 78, of Lake Mills.
The crash happened when a vehicle attempted to make a U-Turn on Highway 69 and turned into the path of another vehicle.
