Four people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck north of Forest City Wednesday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says the collision occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. along Highway 69 near the intersection with Winnebago County Road A-44. A 2020 Ford van being driven northbound on Highway 69, then pulled into a residential drive, attempted to make a U-turn and turned into the path of a northbound 2014 Chevy Equinox.
Injured were 76-year-old Sondra Nelson, 77-year-old Cheryl Cavett, 78-year-old Janet Bergo, and 80-year-old Paula Schreiner, all of Lake Mills. Nelson, Schreiner and Cavett were all transported by Forest City Ambulance to Mercy One Hospital in Mason City, while Bergo was airlifted to the hospital by Mercy Air One. All were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. The drivers of the vehicles were not identified.
