First Flight Takes Off from Rupsi Airport, Kokrajhar to Kolkata

GUWAHATI: Good news for the people of Dhubri and Kokrajhar, the first flight took off to Kolkata from Guwahati via Rupsi on May 8.
Earlier as per a press release, trials were conducted on Wednesday, May 5. The trial flight was conducted on the Guwahati-Rupsi Guwahati route by Flybig airlines. The trial run was completed timely and safely with extended support from the State government and concerned agencies, the Airport Authority of India said in an official statement.
Assamâs Rupsi Airport to be operational from tomorrow with FlyBigâs flight
The direct flight service between Rupsi Airport to Guwahati and Kolkata is all set to begin on May 8, reports Mukesh KR Singh in NorthEast Now.
As per available information, the newly-launched domestic airlines âFlybigâ will start its operation in the Northeast region from May 8 and initially, the flight will connect Rupsi, Guwahati and Kolkata Airports. And in due course, other destinations of the Northeast will be covered.
On Wednesday, Flybig Airlines conducted a successful trial of its flight at Rupsi Airport.
Kokrajhar Police on its social media wrote: âCloud is Clear-Long wait is Over; the Airport is going to be operational soon.â
flybig is India’s newest airline and began operations in December 2020.

NEW DELHI: India’s newest airline flybig has awarded its creative communication mandate to Havas Creative India. As part of the mandate, Havas Creative will be handling integrated creative and media duties for the aviation company. The business will be managed out of the agency s Gurugram office.
Promoted by Gurugram-based Big Charter Pvt Ltd, flybig began operations in December 2020 and its inaugural flight took off from Indore to Ahmedabad on 3 January 2021. In conjunction with the UDAN initiative, flybig focuses on connecting tier-2 and tier-3 cities (Raipur, Jabalpur, Shillong, Bhopal, Rupsi, Passighat) within India and aims to provide connectivity to destinations that were hitherto not accessible by air, whilst also providing convenient timings for travel.
