Some families to the south being told to leave now. While, others in the north bay are finding their homes have already burned. And tonight, fear for firefighters about possible Lightning Strikes. Good evening. Thank you for joining us. Im eric thomas. This is a quick look at three big fires burning in the bay area. The lnu complex, in the north bay, has charred more than 347,000 acres. It is the secondestlargest wildfire in california history. The scu complex, which covers parts of alameda, contra costa, and santa clara counties, is right behind at 343,000 acres. And the czu complex is up to 74,000 acres. It is burning in san mateo and santa cruz counties. A crew in the north bay at the lnu complex and a crew in the south bay at the scu complex. And its not just the north bay. Fires are burning in parts of Santa Clara County and the east bay along with santa cruz, san mateo counties. Thats the czu fire. And tonight weve learned a body has been found in the fire wreckage. We have Team Coverage tonight of all these fires. Lets begin with fire fighterma in Scotts Valley. Reporter and it was some very close call for one homeowner in Boulder Creek tonight. It was very scary just off the road here off highway 9 we watched as flames headed right to the home. This is what it looked like in Boulder Creek just a couple of hours ago. The flames were burning a fence, and we did not see any fire crews around. But ten minutes later cal fire crews showed up and attacked the flames with shovels and water preventing the flames from burning the house. But its not j

It was pitch black when hurricane what exactly happened in lake charles, louisiana. Laura making landfall early thursday as a category 4 hurricane. The storm sustained winds of up to 150 miles per hour, bringing the threat of storm surge and tornadoes. Lake charles, louisiana also taking a direct hit from laura as the storm weekend. High winds shook buildings and knocked down trees. It is pretty devastating. Reporter thursday morning heavy flooding could be seen across the northwest gulf coast. Areas some 40 miles inland could be affected by days. More than half a Million People were asked to evacuate, but some stayed behind. Officers are coming to work early and planning on working late. Neighbor, there were long lines going out of the neighbor because of the mandatory evacuations. I want to go off into the distance. First you can see the homes right here. Then we look at the hillsides. We are at the western portion of i80. You go see the hill sides that are charred black from the flames that have torn through this area. They are under a mandatory evacuation. Some of them are still here. I want to pan back out. There are other things i want to show you. It is pretty quiet here. When we go on to above that roof and on to that hill top, you can see where some of those air tankers dropped that fire retardant. I want to throw it right now to some of the sound we have from some of the folks living in this area on what it has been like in the last 24 hours. Good morning, it was thursday, august 20th. I am michelle griego. I am len keise. A number of new evacuation orders have been issued all over the bay area and Santa Cruz Mountains. There is another one for the entire city of healdsburg. The scu in santa clara, alameda and contra costa counties and the czu in san mateo and santa cruz counties and the l and u, which started in sonoma and not the counties and burned around yolo counties. The lnu has scorched to 24,000 acres, about a 200 square miles. There is still 0 containment. By comparison, the biggest wildfire last year burned just over 77,000 acres and that was the kincade fire in sonoma county.
