Maldives-Mauritius: Indian Foreign Minister expands outreach in Indian Ocean Region

Jaishankar’s visit is testimony to the importance that India attaches to its close and friendly relations with the Maldives and Mauritius, according to an official statement. The two sides will sign a comprehensive trade pact in near future.

Days after hosting Indian Ocean Region Defence Ministers meet in Bangalore External affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will undertake visits to Maldives and Mauritius between Friday and Monday as part of India’s sustained outreach in the Indian Ocean Region notwithstanding pandemic.
