I serve as San Francisco elected assessor. Like many of you, we had to quickly change to a remote work scenario with our office when we had the shelter place be put in place in march. We were able to do that relatively quickly and 98 of our operations is happening off site and not in person. Weve been working hard to make sure we try to continue to do our work, primarily because we know that the revenue impact of our work has been very, very large and disperse impact to the city, from the types of programs were able to support people with us specially during covid19. Good morning, everybody. The hearing will come to order. Today were going to have a video hearing with ms. Sally yates, who was the acting attorney general for a period of time in january of 2017 and was the number two at the department of justice in early january 2017. Ms. Yates appeared before the committee on may 18th, 2017. That was before the Mueller Investigation really got started. It was before the horowitz report about the Mueller Investigation was issued, and i believe much has been learned since may of 2018 2017. And we would like to discuss certain topics with ms. Yates. My view of ms. Yates is that she exercised good caution and legal judgment in january of 2017, and if people had followed her advice, things might be different today, so i just want to let you know, ms. Yates, from my point of view, you analyzed the situation fairly correctly, and we will get into that later on. Whats the purpose of this hearing . Its to ask questions of ms. I was part of the movement to when supervisor kim threatened to annex a nearby city that was unwilling to increase the housing density on vacant land, so lets expand that conversation. I dont know the definitive answer. I think n that yes, you are correct. We need to check that and get back to you. Right, my concern is, given everything we know in the short term, i would hate for San Mateo County to act because of that imperative. And then i guess the question is, is it possible, i guess you cant really pass we vote to pass both. That sounds bizarre. Not to say that you want to change your vote and but it there a way for the City Attorney to pass both measures . We prefer no government structure but if there were government structure positions, we support them. We couldnt do Something Like that. I understand this is very unorthodox. As of our meeting right now, and if they vote the Santa Clara County board of supervisors. That impasse is what will prevent the measure from appearing on the ballot.
