We are looking good here, the lightning strikes have dodged the bay area, just saw one offshore around point reyes, but you can see most of the activity is in the central valley. Lets go in closer and you will notice that weve got the moisture, but the lightning strikes have been lacking. And that is what we wanted to see from lakeport to cloverdale, some activity offshore. We have new video coming in from the fires burning in the Santa Cruz Mountains. More than 20,000 people have been evacuated in that area. This is affecting a lot of peoples lives and you can see this video ththres cr homes. It has burned 25,000 acres so far in the hills of santa cruz and San Mateo County and at least 20 buildings. We saw a lion of a dozen fire trucks going to that area but cal fire is having trouble responding to all of these fires, as we have been talking about. They are spread very thinly, two First Responders have been injured in this firefight. Thsh d at structure you saw burning was a long empire great road. All of these are under evacuation orders. Reporter the issue started at 6 pm yesterday. Police arrived to serve a search warrant on andrew white. Neighbors say things quickly escalated when white barricaded himself inside the home. He was surrounded and they told him to come up with his hands unarmed. And he wasnt coming out. I know that an ambulance did leave with supposedly the suspect inside. Reporter investigator spent most of friday collecting evidence with the San Jose Police bomb squad close by. Neighbors say police were called to the house in question before for fireworks violations. Loud bangs throughout the summer. Sometimes sparklers and sometimes it is a boom. It is always coming from that direction. Reporter overnight Oak Grove High School became a shelter. There were families that were unable to access their home because of the shelter in place. We opened our gymnasium for those that were evacuated from the area.
