White. She donated this book to our collection after she had sent a letter to willa cather asking about her signature in books. This is the letter that will cather wrote back to her explaining why thats difficult to do. One of the reasons why this room is so important is that we are a public archive. So anyone can do research. It is close stacks. Which means that our staff has to retrieve materials, but they are available to anyone. We can retrieve them and patrons can stay and look at them. Mostts one of the important things is that it is available to everyone. And i think it is also important that we have the space, because we can promote the works of emerging nebraska authors. We have the ames reading series. We allow authors to come and read from the books they are writing, and to promote their books. We promote them as authors.
