Two men were arrested in Greater Noida on Wednesday for allegedly selling blood plasma to COVID-19 patients for up to Rs 60,000 each unit, police said.

GHAZIABAD: A 35-year old man returning home from his nursery was shot dead allegedly by three bike-borne assailants in the Dadri area of Greater Noida on Sunday night.

. At least 18 criminal cases were registered against Dinesh, a resident of Luharli village, at various police stations in Gautam Budh Nagar.
The alleged crime happened around 7pm when Dinesh was returning home.
“Suddenly, the three assailants came on a bike and fired at him and fled towards the village. Locals told cops and immediately a team reached the spot. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival,” said Vishal Pandey, additional DCP of Zone-3 in Greater Noida.
Noida: Four men have been arrested for allegedly black-marketing Remdesivir injections and selling a vial for as high as Rs.1.5 lakh outside Greater Noida hospitals like GIMS, Kailash, Sharda and Yatharth.
Police said the accused would source the vials from a lab technician working with AIIMS in Delhi and a contractual employee at the chief medical officer’s (CMO) office in Noida, who are yet to be arrested. While two of the four accused are law students, another works with a pharmacy and the other is a physiotherapist.
The accused identified as Shubham Goyal, Vaibhav Sharma, Shivam Sharma and Yogendra Singh were arrested from near Kailash hospital in Greater Noida. Two 100mg vials of Hetero Remdesivir injections were recovered from their possession. A Honda Civic and Rs 49,600 in cash were also seized, police said.
Greater Noida: A 25-year-old “hardened criminal” died allegedly after falling from the third floor of his flat during a police raid in search of his brother-in-law, an accused in an attempt to murder case. However, the family of the deceased has accused the cops of pushing him to death.
Chand, the deceased, had 14 cases registered against him and was a co-accused in a murder case of a sub-inspector, Akhtar Khan, who was allegedly shot dead when police attempted to nab criminals on the run in April 2016. Chand was out on bail.

Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad on Thursday recorded 63.5% turnout for 2,141 seats in the district in the panchayat polls. Of the four blocks, Muradnagar recorded the highest turnout where voting percentage was 72.5% followed by Bhojpur block which recorded 68% polling, Loni 63% and Razapur 57.9%.
District magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey said that polling was peaceful in the district with no untoward incident being reported. “For 2,141 different posts, a total of 952 candidates are in the fray. As many as 888 candidates have already been elected unopposed,” Pandey said, adding that 5.5 lakh voters were eligible in panchayat elections in Ghaziabad.
