The Augusta women's golf team hosted 16 other college teams for the final round of the Valspar Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club at Augusta University.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Frederik Kjettrup and Brett Roberts of Florida State Men’s Golf were selected as PING Honorable Mention All-Americans, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Kjettrup becomes the 35th All-American in Florida State Men’s Golf history, while Roberts repeats the feat from his freshman year in 2020-21. Roberts becomes the 12th men’s golfer at Florida State to earn All-America honors in multiple years.
CLEMSON, S.C. Colby Patton shot a two-under-par 69 on Tuesday and Jacob Bridgeman finished third overall with an 11-under-par score for the 54 holes, leading Clemson to a 10th place finish at the 15-team Valspar Collegiate at The Floridian in Palm City, Fla.Defending National Champion Pepperdine won the tournament in dominating fashion with a team score of 34-under-par 818 for two-day event that included eight teams with a top 25 ranking by at least one service, including four top 10 teams. Pepperdine, who entered the tournament ranked 10th in the nation, finished 14 shots ahead of Florida State to gain the team victory.Dylan Menante of Pepperdine won medalist honors with a score of 14-under-par 199, three shots better than Bridgeman. CLEMSON, S.C. Jacob Bridgeman will lead the Clemson Tigers into the Valspar Invitational on Monday. The Tigers are one of 12 ACC and SEC teams slated to competed in the two-day 54-hole tournament to be held at The Floridian in Palm City, Fla. The list of teams includes Clemson, Wake Forest, LSU, South Carolina, Texas A&M and many other prominent teams from the southeast. The Tigers are coming off the team’s first victory of the year at the Wake Forest Invitational at Pinehurst #2, then a fourth-place finish at the Linger Longer Invitational, a field that included 17 of the top 100 players in the nation. This tournament also attracts a national field, as the winner will receive an invitation to the 2023 Valspar Invitational tournament on the PGA Tour. Clemson senior Jacob Bridgeman made four birdies in his final five holes on Tuesday to finish with a five-under-par 67 and win medalist honors at the Linger Longer Invitational in Eatonton, Ga. Bridgeman concluded the 54-hole, three-day event with a 16-under-par score of 200 on the Great Waters Course at the Reynolds Lake Oconee.Bridgeman became the first golfer in Clemson history to record three consecutive rounds in the same tournament with scores of 67 or better on a par 72 course.Clemson shot a final round team score of 283 and finished fourth in the strong field that included seven schools from the ACC and the SEC. Georgia won the tournament by four shots over Vanderbilt with an 836 score. Florida finished third at 850 and the Tigers were fourth at 852.
