Bengaluru, Jan 20: Senior Congress leaders Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar were detained along with scores of others when they attempted to proceed to Raj Bhavan to lay siege to it on Wednesday protesting the contentious farm laws of the Centre.
“All provisions of the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Ordinance, 2020 to come into force from January 18,” the state government has said in an order.

UDUPI: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s one-day trip to this coastal district that started on Monday evening saw him visit four temples in less than 24-hours.
This started with a visit to Udupi Sri Krishna Temple where he dedicated Vishwapatha, a new queue system for devotees to have darshan of Lord Krishna. Later, he participated in Brahmakalashotsava rituals at Sri Venkataramana Temple in Karamballi and performed gau pooja there.
