three narratives at play during this hearing. fbi director wray talked about the good things the fbi are doing. democrats talked about donald trump and republicans talked about what they perceive as weaponization of government. i m curious are you protecting the bidens. absolutely not. hold on you won t answer whether that s a shakedown. he pledged to stay above the frey. fbi dricket christopher wray could not escape the politics. i come from a fairly rural district is weaponization of the fbi and the doj coming after conservative citizens who just simply want to have a voice in the process? the idea that i m biased against conservatives seems somewhat insane to me given my own personal background. wray is a republican. democrats accused the republicans of having an ulterior motive. it is an elaborate show designed with only two purposes in mind to protect donald trump from the consequences of his actions and to return him to the white house in the next election

the lies continue. this time george santos caught making up a story about his mother being in the south tower on 9/11, this as republicans reward him in congress. emergency measures are in place today as the nation is hitting its debt limit. why congress may be playing with fire. a warning to vladimir putin. ukraine s president said his country will take by crimea. will alec baldwin be charged the killing of a shooting onset? we ll discuss. cnn this morning starts now. we begin with yet another apparent lie from george santos, a republican congressman from new york who fabricated just about everything on his resume. he s been caught lying about his late mother. santos long claimed his mother was in the south tower of the world trade center on 9/11 and later died from cancer. new immigration records confirm santos mother was in brazil and never in the u.s. and now a navy veteran from new jersey is accusing santos of stealing $3,000 from a gofundme account. santos de
to donald trump s lawsuit requesting that a special master review documents retrieved from his palm beach home. donald trump sued the justice department last week to stop the review of those documents, in a move many are seeing as a delay tactic. in that lawsuit, trump s lawyers claim that he always gave the government complete cooperation. the justice department has until midnight tonight to respond to those claims, and by all accounts they sure have a lot to say. yesterday, the department asked the judge permission to go beyond 20 page filing limit, and submit a 40-page response. 14 pages to trump s lawsuit. the government said it needed the extra pages to, quote, adequately address the legal and factual issues raised by trump s motion. again, that filing can come literally any moment now. that doj filing could potentially shed more light on the government s criminal investigation, and will no doubt serve as a 40-page rebuttal to donald trump s claims of complete cooperatio
