But just in the context of this hearing, id like to point out that the board has been so far, from what ive heard, asking a lot of questions about identifying sort of superfluous elements of the Police Budget such that can be cut, particularly in the light of this budget deficit. And these are only symptoms of a much broader problem, and lets not forget that the Biggest Issue with the police is that this is an institution that directly targets black and brown people and that the time has concluded. Battle stations. That is what plays me everyone goes to their battle stations. Immediately people go well once again another example of blacker people resisting the cops and being criminals and why are you driving drunk and why are you running away from the police. And then of course you have other people, you know, in their battle stations saying of course, another story of cops who immediately shoot a black man for just sleeping in his car. But like, it is messy. No one wants to admit that the thing is messy. Its [bleep] messy. If the story didnt happen now, maybe we would be looking at it differently. But it is a messy story. It is not the per sphect perfect story. And in a weird way it not being the perfect story means we shouldnt look at it in the most perfect way possible. We should try and break it down and understand how Something Like this comes to be. Because we dont always have video like this, we dont always have stories like this.
