Policing, its never been an Institution Designed to keep us safe and used as a tool for those in power to keep the marginalized people from rising up, going all the way back to the slave patrol. We heard about reform from chief scott today, but all those measures ignore the fact that reform is not effective. We need to defund and sfpd and invest in our communities immediately. But just in the context of this hearing, id like to point out that the board has been so far, from what ive heard, asking a lot of questions about identifying sort of superfluous elements of the Police Budget such that can be cut, particularly in the light of this budget deficit. And these are only symptoms of a much broader problem, and lets not forget that the Biggest Issue with the police is that this is an institution that directly targets black and brown people and that the time has concluded. In colorado a week or so ago and that has donald trump saying the system is rigged. No one voted in a primary caucus and that the state convention is the party bosss domain and he wants to make that stop. You have a system thats rigged. A system thats crooked. We have a system thats got a lot of problems. And we have a system that doesnt allow the people to vote in many cases and if they do vote, their vote isnt really representative of what it should be. We have this delegates system, which is a sham. So in colorado, the people are going crazy out there because they never got a chance to vote. Now the Republican National committee firing back here saying that all the candidates knew about the rules in advance and that they knew they could do every state could do a primary, caucus or state convention.
