Drink driver's Brisbane booze up busted by Warrego Hwy patrol

Joshua John Duncan was pulled over by police on the Warrego Highway at Hatton Vale and after a RBT, blew over the legal limit. In the Gatton Magistrates Court, prosecutor Bettina Trenear, from Toowoomba Prosecutions said Duncan, 31, appeared tired, nervous and looked worried at the prospect of getting breath tested. Duncan had a passenger in the vehicle when he told police he was returning from a big night at a friend s house in Brisbane and had stopped drinking at 3am.

'Smoke in bulk': Gatton mum texts former co-worker for supply

Premium Content Subscriber only A defence lawyer has described his client as being an unwilling participant when texting a former co-worker to arrange collecting a bulk amount of drugs then using her son to collect it. Texts between Wendy Garton and a former colleague saved in her phone as Cody Work revealed the 39-year-old asking for smoke in bulk . The texts from Garton, which were read to the Gatton Magistrates Court on April 12, said she would be incognito and discreet, as she asked for several amounts and costs between November 3-11. Garton continued the texts with her former co-worker, then via text, arranged a family member to collect the pound of cannabis .

Premium Content Subscriber only Despite growing a significant amount of cannabis for their own use, a Lockyer Valley trio have sold their weed in order to keep their personal operation afloat. Darren Troy McVey, Felicity Maree Moore and Tyesen Matthew Barker had almost 325g of cannabis leaf in their possession along with 58 plants at their Regency Downs property. In the Gatton Magistrates Court on Monday, April 19, their lawyer Michael McMillan of McMillan Criminal Law, said while it was a sophisticated operation, it wasn t great . It was generating a significant amount of drugs, but they were using significant amount of drugs and the sales were keeping it going, he said.
