A former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has said if elected governor of the state in the November 6 poll, he will empower no fewer than one million youths annually.
Soludo, who is contesting the governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, stated this while addressing stakeholders of the party in Awka, Anambra State.
The professor of Economics described APGA’s victory in the November 6 election as a major determinant of the future and lifespan of the party as a political organisation.
He called on APGA faithful to deploy measures that would ensure victory for the party in the poll.

A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh, on Wednesday, described his stay in the Kuje Correctional Centre, as horrific.
Metuh who spoke to a crowd of party supporters in Awka, the Anambra State capital described his ten months stay behind bars as the lowest point in his life.
The former PDP spokesperson was sentenced to seven years in a correctional facility over alleged financial crimes by a Federal High Court, in Abuja, but was freed on the orders of a Court of Appeal.
Metuh was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission along with his company Destra Investment Limited, before Justice Okon Abang.

The Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has denied reports that he was stopped from returning to Nigeria by authorities in the United States of America.
Online reports had said the governor was stopped from returning to Nigeria because of an altercation he had with some airport officials.
But Obiano, who spoke through the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C-Don Adinuba, described the story as fabricated.
Adinuba said, “The governor travelled with a diplomatic passport. So, the story is rubbish. It’s nonsensical and foolish to think that somebody with a diplomatic passport can be stopped from returning to his country for any reason by airport authorities.

The Movement for Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra has asked Senator Smart Adeyemi to apologise to the Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu within three days for calling him a drunk on the floor of the National Assembly.
A statement in Awka, Anambra State, on Thursday by the MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu, said failure to so, Adeyemi would be declared persona non grata in every part of Igboland.
In the statement titled, “You have touched the lion’s tail”, MASSOB said Adeyemi’s tantrum on Ikpeazu was not the first time he was insulting Igbo leaders unprovoked.
