THE Anambra State Government may soon arrest a prophet, who goes by the name Jesus of Nkpo, based in the Idemili Local Government Area of the state.
The state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C-Don Adinuba, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Awka, the state capital.
He accused the prophet of “criminal and indecent conduct in the name of religion.”
Adinuba said the prophet’s conduct had portrayed Anambra State in bad light to right thinking people.
The statement read in part, “The Anambra State Government is in possession of some videos produced by one person, who goes by the name of Onyeze Jesus, based in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.

The Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has enjoined governorship aspirants in state election scheduled for November 6 to stop attacking him in their campaigns.
He implored them to market their work plans devoid of vulgar statements and personal attacks.
Obiano, who was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, will conclude his second tenure in office on March 17, 2022.
Most governorship candidates in the opposition parties have been vilifying the governor, accusing him of under developing the state and piling up a high debt burden on the state.
But in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C-Don Adinuba, on Thursday, Obiano admonished opposition parties to go about their campaigns with decorum.

The Anambra State Police Command, on Wednesday, said no fewer than 18 children it rescued from traffickers remained unclaimed two years after.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement in Awka.
He said the command had arrested four women allegedly involved in the trafficking of the children.
Mohammed stated, “It will be recalled that on October 22, 2019, following an intelligence report, police operatives attached to the Anambra State Police Command arrested three female suspects at the Nkpor Market/Tarzan junction in the Idemili North LGA of Anambra State with three children suspected to have been stolen.

The Police in Anambra State have arrested 29 illegal revenue collectors in the Onitsha axis of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, stated this in a statement in Awka, the Anambra State capital on Wednesday.
He said while 13 of the suspects were arrested on Wednesday, 16 were nabbed on Monday.
He said the action was to stop illegal revenue collectors from harassing and extorting unsuspecting members of the public.
He said ,”In furtherance to its avowed commitment towards stemming the tide of illegal revenue collections, harassment and extortion on innocent citizens on the road in the name of IGR collection, police patrol teams had on 20/01//2021 while on patrol along Upper Iweka, Oba Ring Road and Owerri road all in Onitsha arrested 13 more illegal revenue collectors under false pretense of being government revenue agents in the state.

A former Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc, Valentine Ozigbo, on Sunday urged Anambra State voters to elect someone in the class of ex-Governor, Peter Obi, in the forthcoming governorship election scheduled for November.
Ozigbo, who is aspiring to fly the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party in the forthcoming polls said, “Peter Obi left Anambra on a positive trajectory with various sums left in many banks which have been validated by many sources.
“But today, Anambra is in such a debt that one starts to wonder how the state government is where it is now.
