The health ministry has reported 1,470 Covid-19 cases and three deaths in the past 24 hours.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,830 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 304,492.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 322,409.
There are 16,711 active cases, with 162 patients being treated in intensive care and 70 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the three deaths take the number of fatalities to 1,206.
The new cases today involved 1,458 local infections and 12 imported cases
PETALING JAYA: The country recorded 1,529 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, the lowest since the beginning of the year, says the Health Ministry.
Its director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of active cases was also below 20,000 for the first time in 2021, at 19,778 cases.
Of the new cases, 1,520 were locally transmitted while nine were imported cases. Eight fatalities were recorded, bringing the death toll to 1,177 cases.
Selangor continued to record the most number of cases in the country at 726, he added.
“Of this total, 645 cases were from clusters and from the active Covid-19 close contact screening that is being conducted in the field.

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 Malaysia registered 2,364 new Covid-19 cases today, with recoveries exceeding infections at 3,320 cases.
Of the 2,364 new cases, only one person was infected while abroad.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also said that 10 patients have died, bringing the total number of Covid-19 fatalities to 1,121 cases.
Those still under hospital intensive care treatment total 190 patients, 99 who are in need of ventilators.
