Many of the Community Activists we spoke to say some of these problems go back decades. They hope now, they will have real accountability. Today finally, we believe theres going to be some accountability. We are only hoping for the best in these situations. Reporter Devon Williams says he remains skeptical. When we look at history, it has not played out in the favor of the public. A lot of crimes committed by officers are not seen as crimes in the eyes of the law sometimes. Reporter thursday morning, the fbi raided the homes of the officers involved in an 18 month long investigation on a wide range of charges, including criminal conspiracy and moral turpitude. Attorney and fbi announced those charges this afternoon. Kron 4 Sarah Stinson was there. She joins us now with what weve learned so far. Sarah. Well, inside one of the 4 indictments released today are disturbing and racist Text Messages. Those charges took fbi agents to multiple states, an effort to arrest 10 officers. After 2 years of investigating officers in the antioch and Pittsburgh Police departments, the u. S. Attorney for the Northern District of california announced indictments thursday afternoon. 10 officers have been charged. 9 of them are sworn officers and one is a community officer. 6 with Antioch Police and 4 with Pittsburgh Police. It took 100 fbi agents to successfully arrest officers in different states, including california, texas and hawaii. These are the 4 indictments announced
Altering records of a federal investigation, wire fraud where officers allegedly defrauded money from the Police Department, civil Rights Violations and obstruction of justice. During the investigation, racist and homophobic Text Messages were also found between dozens of Antioch Police officers on their cell phones. Thats also under investigation by the state. Collectively these four indictments describe a group of officers who acted as though they were above the law. They were each stabbed at least once they were both rushed to the hospital the violence was just before noon today. This is James Lick High School in East San Jose prompted a lockdown kron. 4 Justin Campbell is live at the scene now with the latest. Good evening, justin. This school went into lockdown shortly after 11, 30 after 2 students, staff San Jose Police telling us one of them life threatening injuries but has since been stabilized.
