In a statement, he said all 10 were workplace clusters, FMT reported. The clusters were detected in Johor, Selangor, Perak, Sabah and Negeri Sembilan. Four clusters were detected in Johor, and two each in Selangor and Perak. Sabah and Negeri Sembilan reported one cluster each. Clusters that reported the most infections today were Tembok Bukit Besi (146 cases), Sungai Putus (128) and Tanjung Suria (64).

New cases break 4,000 mark

The previous highs were registered this week on Thursday, 3,337, and on Tuesday, 3,309. In yesterday’s Covid-19 figures, there were also eight deaths, taking the death toll to 594. Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 1,466, followed by Johor (719), Sabah (449), Kuala Lumpur (347) and Negri Sembilan (214). “The cases reported today (yesterday) were due to activities or movements before Jan 13, ” said Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah ( pic). The Health director-general said the number of active Covid-19 infections in Malaysia had reached 37,126. The country now has 155,095 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic last year. However, there were also 2,148 Covid-19 patients who were discharged, bringing the number of recoveries to 117,375 or 75.7% of the total number of cases.
