Hardeep Singh Nijjar had reached Canada using a fake passport and had applied for asylum in the North American country claiming that he feared persecution in India.
Hardeep Singh Nijjar had also given a call to ban Indian Embassy officials to participate in various programmes organised by local gurdwaras in Canada.
MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said said the Canadian diplomatic presence in India is larger than what India has and accordingly needs to be downsized.
