Santa rosa where a checkpoint is underway to keep people safe. Reporter the checkpoints along with saturation patrols are a common sight in the bay area bigger cities. You can see a car pulling up right now. It has been underway about four hours. They have made to drunk driving arrest and a dozen more for suspended license or no license at all. What a way to come down for the holidays. A field sobriety test for this young woman pulled out of the line of drivers inching through a checkpoint. Evacuated. The exterior of one Apartment Building was slightly damaged. No one was hurt. Four firefighters wounded, one seriously while battling a wildfire in the sierra foothills. They were airlifted yesterday to Uc Davis Medical Center in sacramento for burns. The lowell fire began saturday and burned about 1,500 acres near alta and nevada county. That fire is just 15 contained. About 1,800 structures are threatened including homes in nevada and placer counties. In madeira county the willow fire has grown to 1,500 acres. Its just 5 contained. People have been evacuated from 450 homes and a campground southeast of bass lake. There are concerns about rising temperatures forecast for later this week.
