Its a race against time in oroville. Crews are working to batch up the land around the oroville dam. Nearly 200,000 people that live below the spillway are evacuated. This will all be part of the plan to try top shore up this emergency spillway along the dam before storms come in thursday and friday and through the weekend. Crews have been releasing water from the dam as quickly as possible. Were moving 100,000 cubic feet per second down that spillway. We have been doing that for about 1617 hours. Reporter so 188,000 people that live south of the lake were evacuated on sunday. There are several shelters open around the area. The biggest in chico to the north of the lake. Each evacwee with a frantic story to tell. Our phones went all crazy. We got this crazy alert saying Everybody Needs to be evacuated now. In 60 minutes oroville will be under water. Reporter communities under evacuation orders are downstream from Lake Oroville. They will not be allowed back until engineers can deem both spill ways.
