RALEIGH, N.C. The Clemson track and field program concluded competition at the 2021 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday evening after seeing its women’s team score 69 points to finish in a tie for fifth, and its men’s team score 65 points to finish in sixth. Saturday’s action saw Clemson capture two ACC titles at 800 meters, garner seven first-team All-ACC honors, and collect 12 second-team All-ACC accolades.
Kameron Jones became the best men’s 800m runner in Clemson history after setting a new school record of 1:45.47 en route to winning the event’s final on Saturday. In addition to the new school record, Jones also set a meet record and facility record while becoming the fastest collegiate athlete at the distance this season. The previous meet record stood at 1:46.66 and was held by Virginia’s Paul Ereng following his performance at the 1988 conference championships. Sprinters Lead the Way at USC Open
COLUMBIA, S.C. The Clemson Track and Field program picked up 15 top-five finishes, six event victories and a pair of top-ten all-time outdoor marks on Saturday at the USC Open. Senior Marcus Parker took home individual victories in both the 100-meter (10.40), the 200 meter (20.35) and ran the second leg of the winning 4×100 relay to lead the 20th-ranked men. Rebekah Smith (100m), Trishauna Hemmings (100mH) and Leah Disher (800m) won their respective events for the women as well.
“This is a good continuation of how the season started,” said Director of Track and Field Mark Elliott. “All-around, we had many good performances and across the board, happy with how we competed today.”
Track & Field Set to Travel to Knoxville for Tennessee Relays
CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson track and field program will compete at the 53rd Tennessee Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., from April 9-10. The meet will be broadcast on both Friday and Saturday via SEC Network+. Those unable to tune in to the broadcast can follow along via live results throughout the weekend.
“The Tennessee Relays are a historic meet that has been around for a long time, and I am happy it’s back and that we get the opportunity to go up there and keep improving,” said Clemson’s Director of Track and Field, Mark Elliott. “This meet is building off of the Florida Relays and is a continuation of the competition and training we’ve already done this season. Each week we get an opportunity to see where we are and we put our athletes in the events that we know we need to get them a mark in or more experience with.”

The high-flying jumpers of Clemson track and field are ready to soar into the 2021 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships after putting together a season of consistency and success throughout the regular season.
Anthony Hamilton will take to the men’s high jump with lofty expectations after securing two victories in the event, along with three additional top-5 finishes, throughout the 2021 campaign. Hamilton has consistently cleared 2.10 meters (6 feet, ten and three-quarter inches) this season and will enter Thursday’s competition with sizable momentum after logging two quality weeks of training with assistant coach Chris Bostwick.
