EUGENE, Ore. The Clemson men's track and field program concluded its 2022 outdoor season on Friday evening at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships finishing with two individual First Team All-Americans and two Second Team selections at historic Hayward Field. The 4x100 relay of Roberts, Cameron Rose, Guinove Joanus and Fabian Hewitt started things on the track for the men and earned the first All-American honors on the third day of action. The quartet ran the event in 39.44 to finish ninth in the event, which was good enough for second team honors. Clemson was the only team to qualify two hurdlers for the finals in the 110-meter hurdles. Campbell and Roberts finished back-to-back to both be named First Team All-Americans finishing within the 100th of a second of one another. The men's 4x100 meter relay team, Lafranz Campbell and Giano Roberts each finished in the top-9 of their semifinals at historic Hayward Field. The evening began with the 4x100 team consisting of Roberts, Cameron Rose, Guinove Joanus and Fabian Hewitt running a season-best 38.99 to sneak into finals. Clemson powered around the final turn, and Hewitt sprinted the final leg to force the results to be analyzed to the 100th of a second for the Tigers to finish third in their heat and ninth heading into Friday. Action continued for the Tigers in the men's 110-meter hurdles with Campbell and Roberts finishing with the seventh and ninth fastest times of the day in the event, respectively. The day saw Clemson claim ACC Championships in two events, s well as set numerous All-ACC recognitions. The day concluded with fireworks, as the men’s 4x400 meter relay team of Wanya McCoy, Tarees Rhoden, Cameron Rose and Aman Thornton set the facility record en route to the ACC Championship. The mark of 3:05.15 was best in the conference, earning Clemson the gold, as the Tigers won the event in both indoor and outdoor season this year.
