weather here is meteorologist todd santos. he has your forecast. good morning. a few people excited to see some snow flakes but to the south a few showers. this is south texas, you can see the rain over the last six hours has made some progress north and kind of hit a wall there. high pressure to the north. san antonio towards houston, a dry, beautiful day there today. it s mainly south texas dealing with some of the showers. across the west coast we have a system that made its way yesterday, you can see a little spin there, that s going to be pushing down into northern portions of mexico today. a few light sprinkles through southern california. the other piece of the system triggering some showers towards seattle. temperature wise, you can start to see the cooler air. we will have the cool air locked into the northeast in time for this weekend. for some of us just cool enough to produce snow through the ohio valley, d.c. late this morning, early this afternoon, a little bit of that

reporter: i ve never done this before in a snowstorm, i got a chance to pull off the big, heavy jacket. but the sun is nice and wonderful, it s beautiful and it s doing a job on melting some of this snow and the air is dry we are sob the little breeze that comes along is helping to dry out the roads. that s here in harrisburg where we only had 5 inches. off to the west in some of the hills, it s up to a foot. you can see the beautiful state capital here in harrisburg. this is probably one of the nicest state capitols i ve ever seen. that snow is melting quickly. here s why this was such a big problem, craig, for pennsylvania. let s pan around and look at these oak trees, which are still green. you can see them behind me here. this is the situation. people had to use their snow shovels before their rakes, if you can imagine that. before even the first frost, we got right into the snow in through here. so so much for frost on the pumpkin. but the 5 inches that we had here, by the way,
