- what re we doing? - i don t know. . this morning a startling look at the devastating effects of climate change, switzerland has been warming at twice the global rate across the world famous alps, glaciers are melting fast, 500 are gone permanently. keir simmons joins us live. what s it like? reporter: hi steph, spectacular to be live on msnbc on the top of a mountain in the swiss alps, the roane glacier is beautiful. it is also under threat. you should be able to see in the water pieces of the ice breaking off, but it s not just that, steph. if i walk this way and show you, these rocks are smoothed out. decades ago the glacier was here, where i am.
