JAMMU, Feb 23: Jammu Superstars trounced Kathua Warriors by seven wickets in a thrilling contest and lifted the JKS Range Cricket Championship, being played at KC Sports Cricket Ground, here today.
Mukesh Singh, IGP Jammu was the chief guest in the valedictory function, while Shridhar Patil SSP Jammu was the guest of honour. The chief guest in presence of SSP Pawan Parihar, SP Rural Sanjay Sharma, Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer and member Indian Cricket Association, Arjun Choudhary Managing Partner KC Sports Club and SDPO Kousheen Koul distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams.

Two Army men, including a major, were killed and another jawan was injured when militants opened fire on a search party of security forces in Shopian district of south Kashmir.
A cordon and search operation was launched by Army in Zaipora area of Shopian during the night following intelligence inputs about the presence of militants there, a police official said.

J&K police arrest LeM chief planning major terror strike in Jammu city
Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday arrested one of the most wanted terrorists and self-styled commander of Lashkar-e-Mustafa, thus foiling a major terror strike in the Union Territory. According to the police, the arrested terrorist is believed to be from a frontal organization of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). Commenting on the development, a police spokesperson said the arrest of Hidayatullah Malik alias Hasnain, an A category terrorist from the Shopian district, when he was in a private car was made by a joint team of Anantnag and Jammu police from Kunjwani area in the outskirts of Jammu city.Â
Chief of Lashkar-e-Mustafa terror outfit arrested in Jammu
Jammu : Hidayatullah Malik, chief of Lashkar-e-Mustafa terror organisation, has been arrested, said Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday.
Malik was arrested from Jammu in a joint operation by Jammu and Anantnag police, said Jammu and Kashmir Police.
“Hidayatullah Malik, a categorised terrorist, has been arrested near Kunjwani in Jammu. A pistol and a grenade have been recovered from his possession. When we went to arrest him, he attacked the police party,” Jammu Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shridhar Patil told media.
