We are in the newsroom with what we now know about the air asia flight 8501. There are 100 and 62 people on board the flight, they lost contact with air Traffic Control shortly after takeoff on the way to singapore. We do not no what happened or where it is, but we do know that weather may have been a factor. We will take a look at the the map. According to the airline, within 42 minutes after takeoff it lost contact with air Traffic Control at 7 24. The spokesperson says the weather was cloudy and the pilot requested a safer route before contact was lost.
