politics in-depth. i m wolf blitzer in florida, you re in the situation room. the dust is settling here in jacksonville, florida, after our very exciting cnn republican presidential debate last night. and there s new evidence that mitt romney is gaining support four days before florida puts its stamp on the republican race for the white house. the new poll shows romney nine points ahead of gingrich among likely gop primary voters here in florida. the survey was taken tuesday through thursday entirely before our debate last night. gingrich was leading romney in florida earlier this week. right after he won the south carolina primary, but in the last couple of days, he clearly lost some of that momentum here in florida. and he s now trailing romney. newt gingrich came out swinging in debate here in jacksonville, but some campaign watchers think he was off his game last night. our chief political analyst gloria borger listened to every word of the debate. she was here in jac

yeah. when we signed him up for little league, it was more of a self-esteem thing for him, something he could feel good about. but i never imagined that he d be like on the cover of espn or i d be sitting here today talking to you about him. now, what you re frustrated about is he did not make the team. tell me about what happened. well, he s actually played for them for three seasons. and all of a sudden it seemed to be an issue with coach bradley with his disability and something with the bunting. and i m very, very disappointed and just really not going to allow them to discriminate against him. now, we did ask here, diane, for a statement from the school. this is what we have right now. the school saying, quote, anthony was given the same opportunity as all other students to try out for the dr. phillips high school baseball teams. he was among 63 student athletes who were evaluated for a position on either the varsity or junior varsity squads.
police on the money trail. have we gotten any indication where this money might have come from? how did he get that money and why did we sell him that gun? talk a little bit more about what we ve learned about his time at community college because it does seem over a period of months there was a pretty strong deterioration in his mental state that was known by his professors and by fellow students and by campus police. well, absolutely. at the point where you heard that prealgebra professional talk about if he turned around this guy would have a gun pointed at him. that s a pretty strong statement and a pretty strong indication of a very strong concern by a lot of people. this guy was encountered by campus police at least five times, as i understand it, before finally they tossed him out of school saying, go get a mental evaluation and when you can come back with a doctor telling us that you re not a
