The Highway Patrol has closed both the onramp and the offramp of interstate 80 at cummings skyway. Youre looking at at least one of several helicopters that have been used to pour fire retardant and water on this brush fire. We have pictures of what it looked like earlier. The fire broke out, according to a neighbor i spoke with, alongside interstate 80 in the eastbound direction. This is, again, 3 00 in the afternoon, very near the phillips refinery in rodeo. Numerous fire crews responded. They managed to keep the fire from going anywhere near the refinery. It did, however, the fire itself, progress into a ravine that went alongside the refinery. It also there was another fire that began on the other side of the hill closer toward crockett, towards the cummings skyway part of this county. There

We are live tonight in oakland and have the latest. Reporter one of the reasons residents could not return to their homes is because that damaged construction crane posed a risk of falling down and potential by damaging nearby buildings but now that the crane has been pulled down that concern has been eliminated. It took engineers hours to calculate how to pull down this damaged construction crane but once the cables were attached to machinery on the ground it took only seconds for it to come tumble down. It came down the way the crane engineers wanted it to work out. Shortly after it was toppled, city officials began to work to turn power on for nearby buildings. We will be contacting residents and property managers. If folks want to reach out to us they can look at the citys website. There are a few buildings that may have been damaged with flames or smoke. Those will remain off limits until the officials can decide if they are safe. About 700 people have been displaced by the fire.

San Francisco Police did make four felony arrests last night for fireworks, guns and drugs. Investigators say illegal fireworks started a house fire in vallejo. It started around 1 15 this morning. The fire caused about 100,000 in damage. One family is displaced. Nobody was hurt. Fireworks are illegal in vallejo. Fireworks may have also caused a fiveacre blaze in oakley last night.
